Weighted Blanket Washing Instructions. Step 1: Spot treat any stains before washing. Step 2: Smaller Machines: If you have a smaller washing machine, or a top load washer with an agitator (the center rod that moves clothes around), then we highly recommend using a laundry bag to wash your weighted blanket. Larger Machines: If your washer does not have an agitator, we still recommend using a laundry bag, however it is not required. Step 3: Use a mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Step 4: We recommend air drying on a drying rack, hanging flat and not from the top down, in order not to stretch out your blanket. You can also use your dryer on low heat. Since weighted blankets are heavy, expect the drying process to take a little longer.
